Not every piece of golf equipment needs to be complicated to be worth talking about. The Clicgear Model 4.0 push cart is proof of that. It doesn’t track your swing or calculate your yardages, it just does one job, getting your bag around the course, and it does that job about as well as anything on the market. After putting real time behind this cart, including adding a few accessories of our own, we can say without hesitation that this is a purchase we’d make again.

First Impressions

Pull the Model 4.0 out of the box and the first thing you notice is the build quality. The frame is aircraft-grade aluminum, and at 21 pounds, it has real substance to it, this isn’t a flimsy, wobbly cart that feels like it’s one bumpy cart path away from falling apart. It folds down to a compact 13″ x 15″ x 24″, which is genuinely impressive for how sturdy it feels unfolded, and it fits into a trunk without a fight.

Assembly and folding take a little getting used to. This isn’t a one-motion, auto-open cart, and the first couple of times you fold and unfold it, you’ll want to pay attention to the process. Once you’ve done it a few times, it becomes second nature.

Built for the Long Haul

The Model 4.0’s reputation for durability isn’t marketing spin, it’s earned. The silicone bag strap system is genuinely one of the smartest features on the cart. It’s flexible enough to accommodate everything from a compact carry bag to a full-size staff bag, and it holds securely without the shifting or rattling you get with cheaper strap systems. The adjustable upper and lower saddle let you fine-tune the fit further, and Clicgear specifically redesigned the lower saddle to keep bags from rubbing against the front wheel, a small detail that makes a real difference over dozens of rounds.

The three-wheel design, paired with airless, maintenance-free tires, rolls smoothly across just about any terrain you’ll encounter, wet grass, gravel cart paths, uneven fairways, without ever feeling unstable. The front-wheel hand brake is simple and effective, and it’s reassuring to know the cart isn’t going anywhere on a downhill lie while you’re lining up a shot.

Storage and Accessories

This is where the Model 4.0 really separates itself from budget push carts. You get a large console with dedicated holders for your scorecard, pencil, balls, and tees, a spacious storage net for anything else you want to bring along, and four accessory mounts plus a built-in cup holder right out of the box.

We added two accessories ourselves: an umbrella holder and umbrella. Long, hot days on the course are a reality for a lot of us, especially playing year-round, and being able to lock in real shade without holding an umbrella one-handed the whole round made a noticeable difference in comfort. The umbrella mount attaches securely and holds firm even when the cart is moving, it doesn’t rattle loose or drift out of position over rough terrain. It’s a simple add-on, but it turned out to be one of the more genuinely useful upgrades we’ve made to any piece of golf equipment.

Third-party accessories aren’t guaranteed to fit or hold up the same way, so if you’re planning to add extras like we did, it’s worth sticking with genuine Clicgear accessories rather than trying to save a few dollars on a generic version.

Is It Heavy?

At 21 pounds, the Model 4.0 is on the heavier end for a push cart, some lightweight competitors come in closer to 15-17 pounds. In practice, that extra weight is part of why it feels so stable and durable, but it’s a fair tradeoff to be aware of if you’re especially sensitive to lifting it in and out of a trunk every time you play.

We added an umbrella holder and umbrella specifically to help manage long, hot rounds, and that small investment paired perfectly with a cart that was already doing its main job exceptionally well.
